What to Expect
Visiting a new church can come with a lot of questions. Here are a few things that may help you know what to expect when you join us.
What can I expect on Sunday?
Our Sunday worship service typically lasts about 75–90 minutes and is centered on the Word of God and the worship of Christ.
During the service, we sing and pray together, read Scripture, hear expository preaching, and celebrate the Lord’s Supper each week. Our preaching normally works through the Bible verse by verse, seeking to understand what God has said and how His Word applies to our lives.
As a family-integrated church, you’ll see the whole church worshiping together—from young children to older saints. At times, members and families may also participate through Scripture readings and other parts of the service.
We believe worship is something we participate in together as the gathered church. Whether you’ve been in church your entire life or this is your first time, you are welcome to join us.
What time should I arrive?
We recommend arriving about 15 minutes before the service begins. This will give you time to find a seat, get situated, and meet a few people before worship begins.
What should I wear?
Come as you are! You’ll find people dressed in everything from jeans and casual clothes to more traditional Sunday attire. We don’t have a dress code, and what you wear should never keep you from joining us.
As we gather for worship, we simply encourage everyone to dress in a way that is comfortable, modest, and fitting for gathering with God’s people to worship Him. Most importantly, know that you are welcome, and we’ll be glad to have you with us.
What about our kids?
Children are a blessing, and we love having them worship with us! As a family-integrated church, we encourage families to worship together as part of the gathered church. Don’t worry about a little movement or noise—we expect kids to be kids, and we’re glad they’re here.
We believe parents have the primary privilege and responsibility of discipling their children, while the church comes alongside them to encourage, equip, and support them in that calling. We also offer a children’s class about once a month to help reinforce what families are teaching at home.
If you need to step out with your child during the service, that’s perfectly okay. We provide space for parents and children as well as a private area for nursing mothers, and you’re always welcome to return when you’re ready.
What is the music like?
Our music is centered on congregational singing. We sing a mixture of historic hymns and newer songs, choosing music primarily for its biblical faithfulness and its ability to help the whole church worship together.
Our goal is not a particular musical style, but to sing truth together—songs that exalt Christ, teach and encourage one another, and give glory to God.
